The Blackhawks announced on Wednesday afternoon that starting goaltender Corey Crawford would miss 2-3 weeks with a lower body injury that was suffered “off the ice.” When asked asked about the incident, Crawford revealed that he injured himself while leaving a concert earlier this week.
Crawford said he slipped on a step coming out of a concert. Wearing a walking boot on his left foot. #Blackhawks

More Crawford: "I got up the next day and it was worse than I thought. I'm pretty embarrassed about it, frustrated." #Blackhawks

Crawford wouldn’t provide many further details, including what concert he was at or if alcohol was involved in the incident. Many are saying it was the Rise Against show at Chicago’s House of Blues on Monday night. As for the alcohol thing, considering the speech he gave during the Blackhawks’ Stanley Cup parade a few years ago – I think it’s fair to say that we probably shouldn’t rule it out.
