The Mike Munchak experiment in Tennessee is over and the Ken Wisenhunt era is set to begin. What that means for the team in the upcoming season is that the hopes of the Titans fall squarely on the shoulders of Jake Locker.
Wisenhunt has a track record of not being able to foster quarterback talent. He had his greatest success with an aging Kurt Warner and wasn’t able to do much with the position since then. The marriage of Locker and Wisenhunt could be a boon if the two can get on the same page though. The team lost marquee names Chris Johnson and Kenny Britt but the guys they have waiting in the wing (Bishop Sankey, Kendall Wright) should be able to adequately replace those players’ production on the field.
Last year, the Titans defense was pretty mediocre and things don’t stand to get much better this season. The team is shifting to a 3-4 but the change may end up being mere window dressing trying to masquerade as significant improvement. The Titans may get some good play out of their linebackers but the secondary has question marks with the likes of Jason McCourty and Blidi Wreh-Wilson at cornerback.
