Capitals winger Tom Wilson, who has more than likely invested in some sort of bone growing medical company decided to deliver them their first patient this evening: Flyers center Brayden Schenn.
Wilson flies in from offscreen like a bat out of hell and hurtles toward the unsuspecting Schenn and absolutely crushes him into the boards in one of the most unnecessary hits of the season. The 19-year old Wilson may have thought he had something to prove as a rookie, that he had to show his teammates and opponents that he’s a real big tough guy, by, you know, creaming a completely defenseless player.
Schenn seems to be feeling no ill effects of the hit and is reportedly well aware of what the current year is. Wilson is already scheduled for a disciplinary hearing Thursday morning.
