The NFL came down hard on Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on Monday over the findings of the Wells Report.
In addition to fining the team $1 million and taking away a first and fourth round draft pick, the NFL suspended Brady for four games for his role in Deflategate.
Later on Monday, Patriots owner Robert Kraft bashed the NFL’s decision, claiming that the punishments “far exceeded any reasonable expectation” and that the ruling was based “completely on circumstantial evidence rather than hard or conclusive evidence.”
Kraft ended his statement with a strong statement in defense of Tom Brady.
“Tom Brady has our unconditional support. Our belief in him has not wavered.”
On Tuesday, the Patriots certainly took some symbolic steps towards fulfilling Kraft’s words. The team’s Twitter, Instagram and Facebook profile avatars were all changed to an image of Tom Brady’s jersey.
In case it wasn’t abundantly clear already, the Patriots aren’t going to accept the NFL’s decision quietly.
