The Denver Broncos came just short of winning the Super Bowl (by that, I mean that they played in it, not that the game was close or anything) and the team should be poised to make another serious run at the Lombardi Trophy this season.

The offense should not miss much of a beat as long as Peyton Manning is under center. Sure, the team lost Eric Decker but they picked up Emmanuel Sanders who should fill Decker’s void nicely. The team still has wide receivers Demaryius Thomas and Wes Welker and tight end Julius Thomas is also a solid threat in the passing game. The only nagging question is at running back where Montee Ball is looking to replace Knowshon Moreno’s production.

On defense, the Broncos demonstrated that they are building to win right now. The team lost Champ Bailey, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Shaun Phillips but they more than made up for it in free agency where Denver added Aqib Talib, T.J. Ward and DeMarcus Ware. The addition of three such talented free agents should definitely help Denver in its quest to make a repeat Super Bowl appearance.
