The jabbing between LeBron and the former Celtics took a physical route in last night’s preseason game. In the first quarter Paul Pierce sent a message to LeBron James and the Miami Heat that these are not your grandfather’s pathetic Nets. As LeBron was in the open court Pierce squared up and laid a hard check on the superstar. Definitely not leisurely defensive play we expect from NBA preseason games. The Nets thumped the Heat by a score of 86-62, but it is certain that this will be a heated rivalry all year.
