Thursday night was a fantastic night for NHL bloopers. Not only did Mark Borowiecki manage to get an opponent’s stick lodged between his visor, but Pekka Rinne also got flattened by his own goalpost. After playing the puck behind his net during the third period of the Predator’s game against the Blues, Rinne attempted to get back to his crease.
He failed. Miserably.
In fact, Rinne got wrecked so hard that the post ended up winning ‘Check of the Game’ from the Blues broadcast team. Hard to argue with the selection; that’s a clean, textbook body check right there.
