During Thursday night’s loss to the Seattle Storm, Indiana Fever rookie sensation Caitlin Clark faced some pretty physical defense. But she and her coach seem to think the defense was a little too physical at times and should have resulted in more foul calls.

Toward the end of the game on Thursday night, Indiana Fever head coach Christie Sides let her frustration show as she screamed at the referees following what appeared to be an uncalled foul against Caitlin Clark.

Sides was given a technical foul for her outburst, but Clark made it clear after the game that she was grateful for her coach defending her, and she took the chance to criticize the officiating herself, saying that she felt she was “getting hammered” with no foul calls.

“I feel like I’m getting hammered,” Clark said according to Dom Miranda. “I appreciate Christie getting a tech. I just… I don’t know.”

Obviously, Clark was not happy with the referees, and her words led to a strong reaction on social media.

Clark was never afraid to criticize and call out referees during her time with the Iowa Hawkeyes, and it seems like she’s comfortable doing at the professional level as well.
