England’s Premier
Manchester City 4 Manchester United 1
Derbyday in Manchester and they were singing Blue Moon at the end of 90′ when City won the early season matchup between the two expected title contenders. The absence of RVP was evident throughout as City controlled without much resistance. Kun Agüero’s volley-ful brace kickstarted the route. Rooney nailed a beautiful free kick curler, but it was too late with the match already decided.
Cardiff City 0 Tottenham Hotspur 1
Paulinho’s clever back heel in the 93′ from a Lamela cross showed why Spurs shelled out £47m for the duo this past summer. North London newbies Christian Eriksen and Roberto Soldado also created chances, but only the Brazilian midfielder was able to break through for the late-game winner. This photo also happened as a result of the goal.
Arsenal 3 Stoke City 1
Aaron Ramsey scored his seventh goal in eight games as Özil continues to show his influence on the Gunners squad. Arsenal sits atop the table, ahead of neighboring Spurs on goal differential.
Crystal Palace 0 Swansea City 2
Michu scored 80 seconds in, and Swansea followed up their historic European victory in Valencia with an important three points in the league.
Sunderland also sack their manager, Paolo Di Canio.
