Sports Illustrated and the Associated Press have reported that Las Vegas has been picked as an expansion site. There’s no guarantee, however, until organizers can come up with the small $500 million fee required. According to SI, “an official announcement could follow the Board of Governors meeting on June 22,” meaning any number things could happen.

Fans in Sin City have already started flocking, putting down over 13,00o deposits for season tickets on a team that isn’t even official yet. Meanwhile, the NHL also looked into expanding to… Quebec City? The city who’s “So Europe. So close?” We’ve talked about it before, but it bares repeating. Looks almost too pretty for guys smashing in each other’s teeth. Could be fun, though.
