Last year, the Las Vegas Raiders and Tom Brady announced that the legendary quarterback would be joining the team’s ownership group as a minority owner of the team. But even though that deal has yet to be approved by the NFL, it sounds like Brady is still planning to join the ownership group.
During a recent appearance on the Front Office Sports Today podcast on Tuesday, Tom Brady made it clear that he is still planning to join the Las Vegas Raiders ownership group and he also had a pretty clear message for what he thinks about the city of Las Vegas as he steps into this new role with the team.
“It’s [a city] on the rise,” says Brady, noting that Las Vegas has NHL, NFL and WNBA teams, plus UFC’s presence there. “There’s going to be a basketball team at some point, a baseball team at some point. … There are shows. There’s the Sphere. It’s a big small town.”
The deal to make Brady a minority owner still must be approved by the rest of the NFL owners and there seem to be a few holdups with Brady reportedly getting a large discount on his share as well as the fact that Brady is set to join the media as a Fox Sports analyst.
