Perhaps the biggest topic in the entire NFL this offseason is the decision the Chicago Bears are currently facing regarding the quarterback position, but it doesn’t sound like the team has made any decisions just yet.

The Bears currently hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after a trade with the Carolina Panthers last year. The team will have to decide whether to use it on a rookie quarterback or continue with Justin Fields as the team’s starter. But as the team prepares to head to the NFL Combine this week, it doesn’t sound like they have made that decision just yet.

“The hot topic,” Bears general manager Ryan Poles said according to Pro Football Talk. “The 1st pick. The quarterback situation. Contrary to reports out there, I have no master plan to present everyone today. This is an opportunity for us to continue to gather information, learn about the different players in the draft, listen to what opportunities could come up and then, at the end of the day, we’re gonna to make the best decision that we can for the Chicago Bears. It will not be based on fear of what could happen with this, what could happen with that. We’re gonna put our information together and make the best decision.”

Poles said that the team “won’t be in a rush” to make the decision, but it will obviously have to come within the next few weeks.
