Over the past several seasons, Kansas City Chiefs superstar teammates Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have made the case that they are one of the best quarterback and receiver tandems in NFL history. And it sounds like that starts with a bond that extends far off the football field.
During a press conference this week, Patrick Mahomes opened up a little bit about the relationship he has with Travis Kelce, making it pretty clear that the two share a bond off the field that ultimately helps their connection on the field as well.
“We think along the same wavelength on kind of a lot of things,” Mahomes said according to ESPN. “We have a lot of similar hobbies, similar interests, and it translates to the football field. A lot of times, there might be something we haven’t talked about that he kind of does and I just know he’s going to do it — and so, it comes with a lot of reps.”
Whatever the two have in terms of their connection, it seems to be working as that special connection has now helped lead the Chiefs to three Super Bowl titles in the last five seasons. We’ll have to see if they can do it again next year.
