During practice this week, New York Jets star wide receiver Garrett Wilson was seen having a heated discussion with quarterback Aaron Rodgers on the field. And during a recent interview, he spoke a little bit about that discussion.
During a press conference following practice this week, Garrett Wilson addressed to the apparent argument with Aaron Rodgers as he called it “truly enlightening” to have conversations like that with such an accomplished and veteran player like Rodgers.
“We’re getting better,” Wilson said in a video shared by SNY. “We’re gaining an understanding for each other and the way we go about things, the way we think — interpret the game. It’s truly enlightening for me every time we have convos like that despite how it may look.”
Wilson did acknowledge that the conversation could “look a certain way,” but he insisted that there was no problem between him and Rodgers.
Through his first two seasons with the Jets, Wilson has blossomed into a legitimate star for the team, posting back-to-back seasons with more than 1,000 receiving yards even though the team’s quarterback play has not been particularly dominant.
It will certainly be interesting to see how Wilson performs this season with a future Hall of Fame quarterback throwing him the ball.
