Can someone tell me why this is just happening now? I am glad that Lynch and Skittles have formally finalized a deal but it feels like this should have been done last year. Darren Rovell is reporting that Skittles has signed Lynch on to be a spokesperson/ brand endorser of sorts. Lynch will be the first athlete to ever be signed to Skittles.
According to Darren:
While specific terms of the deal are unknown, sources told ESPN that Lynch will receive financial compensation. The brand also will donate $10,000 to Lynch’s Fam First Foundation for every touchdown he scores in Sunday’s Super Bowl.
The deal marks the first time the rainbow candy brand ever has paid an athlete. To celebrate the partnership, Skittles has made limited edition packages of a “Seattle Mix,” a bag the brand will hand out this week that includes only circles of blue and green colors.
This seems like a win/win for both parties as Lynch genuinely seems to need and love Skittles.
