Future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers is obviously the current starting quarterback of the New York Jets after the team added him last offseason, and he’s expected to remain the starter for multiple years to come. But new Jets quarterback Jordan Travis is already thinking about replacing him.
The New York Jets selected former Florida State Seminoles star quarterback Jordan Travis in the fifth round of the NFL Draft last month. And even though he understands that he has a long way to go before he’s even ready to play in the league, he did make it clear that he often thinks about the possibility of replacing Aaron Rodgers in New York.
“I do think about that a lot, but right now I’m just focused on where my feet are — getting healthy, getting everybody around me better, being a great teammate,” Travis said according to Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post.
As far as this year, it’s unlikely Travis will see a lot of action as Rodgers will be back as the team’s starter and the Jets added veteran quarterback Tyrod Taylor to serve as his backup. But it sounds like Travis is already making plans for the more distant future.
