Jordan Love spent the first three years of his NFL career as the backup quarterback to future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers is now with the Jets and Love took over his role as the Packers’ starter, but it sounds like they still have a cordial relationship.
Love finally got the chance to show what he can do as the team’s starter this year and earned a massive contract extension with the team this weekend result. And during a recent appearance on the NFL Network, Rodgers expressed his congratulations to the young quarterback.
“I want to give a shoutout to Jordan Love becoming the highest paid player in the NFL,” Rodgers said according to USA Today. “J-Love, don’t spend it all in one place. But if you do, I still have a house in Green Bay up for sale.”
Love later offered his response to Rodgers’ comments about his house, making it clear that he doesn’t have plans to purchase it.
“Somebody will buy it, but probably not me,” Love said.
It’s not easy to take over for a future Hall of Famer, but Love appears to have done it admirably. And it’s pretty clear that he still has a good relationship with Rodgers.
