Earlier this month, independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced that he was considering New York Jets superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers as his potential running mate in the upcoming presidential election. But it doesn’t sound like Jets head coach Robert Saleh was too worried about losing his quarterback.
During a recent interview at the NFL league meetings this week, Robert Saleh did not seem to take Aaron Rodgers’ potential Vice President run all that seriously, admitting that he was not exactly worried that Rodgers would leave the team to run for Vice President with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
“No. I don’t think outside the football world. . . . I think it was viewed a little bit differently in the political world than it was, at least in our world,” Saleh said Monday according to Pro Football Talk.
Ultimately, Rodgers appeared to be ruled out for the position anyway shortly after, so it’s not something that Saleh had to deal with even if there was some validity to it.
Now, Saleh and Rodgers will just be focused on Rodgers’ return to the field after he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury that sidelined him for nearly the entire 2024 NFL season.
