While no official move has been made or announced, it’s widely expected that the Chicago Bears are planning to select Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and part ways with current starting quarterback Justin Fields. And it sounds like one Bears star is prepared to move forward if that is indeed reality.
During a recent interview, Chicago Bears star cornerback Jaylon Johnson spoke on the possibility of the Bears moving on from Justin Fields and made it clear that he thinks the locker room will rally if that is indeed the decision.
“We’ll all have our opinions, our emotions, but as far as the locker room staying together, I think we have the right guys in the locker room to keep everything together, to keep us together. . . . We know the business that we’re in,” Johnson said according to Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times. “So I feel like it wouldn’t be mature of us as a locker room not to rally together in spite of having Justin leave.”
Obviously, no official decision has been made yet, but it sounds like the Bears locker room is ready if that is the move that the team decides to make.
