Jared Allen has had a relatively quiet season as a member of the Chicago Bears but he made his presence known early against the Detroit Lions.
Going into Thursday’s game, Allen had only recorded 2.5 sacks and 1 forced fumble. It didn’t take him long to make up for lost time. With Matthew Stafford pinned in his own territory, Allen managed to blow by the offensive line and beautifully stripped the ball out of Stafford’s grip. It was like jumping into a time machine and seeing Jared Allen terrorizing the Lions as a member of the Minnesota Vikings.
The ball would somehow be recovered by the Bears (even though it appeared that the Lions immediately fell on the ball) and the Bears would score two plays later on a Jay Cutler pass to Alshon Jeffery.
