New York Giants starting quarterback Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending ACL injury last season and has been working his way back throughout the offseason. And as the team began OTAs this week, it sounds like Jones took a major step toward being ready for the upcoming season.
According to a report from Dan Salomone of the New York Giants team website, Daniel Jones participated in 7-on-7 drills for the team when they began OTAs this week.
“Quarterback Daniel Jones, who underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL on Nov. 22, took the next step in his rehab and participated in 7-on-7 drills. He completed passes to wide receivers Wan’Dale Robinson and Malik Nabers, the sixth overall pick in the draft. The hope has been to have Jones full-go for training camp in late July,” Salomone wrote for the team website this week.
Obviously, Jones still has a long way to go before he’s ready to fully participate in practice in a couple of months, but this update still led to a lot of reactions on social media.

Yeah. We heard how he lights up camp every year and then looks like a dear in headlights when the real games start. As long as he is our QB, we have NO chance at even thinking about a Super Bowl.

I’m a fan of his. But he did that last year. And look shell shocked on the field. Granted the OL didn’t help but even when he had time he was feeling pressure and seeing ghosts. I hope he plays well but not holding breath anymore

We've heard this before lol but as much as I want a new Qb due to his regression and most importantly injury history we all want the Giants to win. If he throws for 4700 yds 38td and 10 rushing td and we get to a conference champ game. What do the Giants do ? Lol that's the NFL

Jones was given a contract extension with the team before the start of the 2023 season. We’ll have to see how he performs this season once he returns.
