The Tennessee Titans fell to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday by a final score of 20-17, and it sounds like star wide receiver Calvin Ridley is not happy with the gameplan from the coaches.
Following Sunday’s loss, Calvin Ridley was asked about being targeted eight times and not getting any catches.
“They wanted to make getting you targets and part of this offense a priority today and to have it not result in any catches, what was kind of off that resulted in targets but no catches?” a reporter asked Ridley after the game.
“I had targets — in what part of the game did I have targets?” Ridley replied.
Ridley was told that he had a lot of targets in the fourth quarter, to which he made it clear that he thinks he needed to be targeted earlier than that.
“Alright then,” he said. “I need some in the beginning of the [freaking] game too, then. [Stuff] is getting [freaking] crazy for me.”
Ridley acknowledged that he didn’t personally play well, but he still called out the coaches for not getting him the ball earlier in the game.
“I just — you know, it is what it is — I sucked today,” he said. “I gotta be better. But I gotta get the ball a little earlier in the game so I can be in the game and here with the team so I can play well, also.”
We’ll have to see whether or not the team gets him involved earlier in the future.
