It’s safe to say that last season did not play out as hoped for the New York Jets and future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers as he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury during just the first drive of his first game with the team. But it sounds like the team has high expectations for him this season.
During a recent interview with Steve Wyche of NFL Media, New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh had a pretty bold message about how Aaron Rodgers is preparing for the upcoming season after the disappointing way the 2023 season played out.
“Aaron, he’s on a mission,” Saleh told Wyche. “He’s doing his rehab. He’s out in California, I believe. Obviously he’s taking some time for himself. He was ready to go last year, man. So I know he’s getting ready. We speak to him often. I don’t want to speak for him, but I am going to speak for him and say that he’s really excited about attacking this season.”
Obviously, Jets fans had high hopes for what Rodgers would bring to the team when he signed last season. They never got to see it materialize, but they’ll now have that chance this season.
