By now, Aaron Rodgers’ State Farm “Discount Double Check,” is nearly as synonymous with the NFL season as Peyton Manning and DirecTV Nationwide Papa John’s (Christ, Manning shills for a lot of places).
So, with the new season in full swing, State Farm recently released its newest take on the Discount Double Check with a referee who forgets to double check if his mic is turned off.
The resulting scenario is pretty funny, if only because there’s at least one call a game where it seems like the ruling was constructed on the fly much like it is portrayed here.
“You two do the bouncing football thing. You rub your head like it’s a really tough call. Check your head like you have a migraine under it. I’m going to break the huddle confidently, and we’re going to call it incomplete.”
