As a recent college grad who gets ethered by student loans every single month and works on these Internet streets solely to scrounge up enough change to drink myself through the weekend, this story absolutely infuriates me.
This girl in South Korea does nothing but stuff her face in front of a webcam for three hours a day and banks the equivalent of $9,000 a month? That’s probably the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard, but sign me up immediately.
Also, it’s extremely strange that so many people in South Korea are getting off to this girl gorging herself on a daily basis, right? Maybe it’s just me, but never in my life have I seen a female and thought to myself “man, what I wouldn’t give to watch that girl house an eight-course meal.”
And I don’t buy for one second that any of the viewers are watching because they get vicarious pleasure when they “don’t want to eat at night or are on a diet.” Since when does watching people eat delicious food ever curb your own desire to eat? I’m pretty sure it doesn’t work that way.
Nothing about this story makes any sense to me and I’m so damn angry about it. Now I feel like I need to go blow off some steam by annihilating an entire gallon of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.
