Illinois’ Tyler Griffey brought down the house when he hit the game-winning layup to upset No. 1 ranked Indiana.
With just under twenty seconds left and the game tied 72-72, Indiana guard Victor Oladipo tried to make a move to get off a potential game-winning shot, but dribbled off of his leg, turning the ball over to Indiana guard D.J. Richardson who pushed it up the floor only to have his layup attempt blocked by a hustling Oladipo.
With 0.9 seconds left on the clock, Illinois ran an inbounds play and Indiana made a crucial defensive mistake that left senior forward Tyler Griffey wide open under the basket. Griffey got off the easy layup just before the buzzer sounded, knocking off No. 1 Indiana.
The place immediately erupted and the students rushed the court in celebration.
