You may recall the supposedly non-romantic romance between Paris Hilton and Afrojack (Nick van de Wall) earlier this year. Well, in case you missed it: the Dutch producer/DJ kicked his pregnant ex-girlfriend to the street, at a time when Paris had started tagging along on his around-the-world adventures. Mixed among roughly 3,657 tweets she sent out about their fling and love for house music, there were mentions of late night recording sessions. Unfortunately, a piece of their collaboration managed to make its way to human ears, via Paris’ first (and hopefully last) DJ appearance.
That appearance came a few weeks after van de Wall “dumped” Paris, who naturally had some choice comments on her pre-recorded set. Their falling out snowballed into van de Wall re-recording their collaborative single “Last Night”, replacing Paris’ vocals with Havana Brown, and adding Pitbull. This works out for van de Wall, because he gets a producer credit on Pitbull’s new album. Also, it works out for society, because we don’t have to talk ourselves into liking a Paris Hilton song again — “Stars Are Blind” was a thing — and can go back to laughing about that time Paris Hilton wanted to be a DJ.
