Tuesday afternoon was a rough one for the Oracle Team USA America’s Cup team as they capsized their vessel in San Francisco Bay. Thankfully no one was injured as all 11 crew members were able to escape. The team’s AC72 racing yacht, which cost around $10 million capsized during training on San Francisco Bay and from the below video, you can see that spirits aren’t dampened, even though clothes may be.
According to Fourth-Place Medal:
For those of you who haven’t been following the America’s Cup, Oracle Team USA is the reigning champion, and will be looking to defend its title at the 34th competition starting in September 2013. The America’s Cup is the oldest international competition trophy, with the first competition taking place in 1851. Next year’s race will be held in San Francisco Bay, which clearly is not playing the genial host just yet.
