Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback caused quite the stir when he appeared on The Pat McAfee Show, a program he was at one point a frequent contributor to, and took multiple shots at former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Anthony Fauci for repeatedly invoking the Fifth Amendment in testimony before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.
“You got a pardon, and you’re in front of — and you pleaded [the Fifth] over 100 times?” Rodgers said. “What are you scared of, Tony? I thought you were the science. I thought you [were], ‘I am science.’ And you get up there, and you can’t answer a question?”

“How much time did the network spend on that?” he continued. “How much time do they spend on my responses every week? On my vaccination status, on Taylor [Swift] and Travis [Kelce’s] wedding? Did they do even a minute? Did they do even a minute on Tony Fauci? No, I bet they didn’t.”
It’s not Rodgers’s, who was against the COVID-19 vaccine at the height of the pandemic, first time taking issue with Fauci. The four-time MVP has previously promoted a false conspiracy theory that Fauci’s wife’s sister is Ghislaine Maxwell.
Per The Athletic, David Schertler, Fauci’s lawyer, has responded to Rodgers’ callout via email.
“Aaron Rodgers doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He should stick to football,” Schertler wrote.
It’s clear that Rodgers has no problem voicing his mind as he enters what he is adamantly declaring will be his last season in the NFL, not that he ever did have one. Now, only time will tell if he responds to Schertler.
