The Aaron Rodgers experience in New York has been a brutal one. Rodgers’s first season with the New York Jets was cut tragically short after he ruptured his Achilles in the first series of the season.
In his second season, Rodgers was available for all 17 games, and the Jets traded for his old running mate from his days with the Green Bay Packers, Devante Adams, but New York wasn’t much more successful for it.
The Jets finished the season 5-12 and missed the playoffs in what was arguably the worst season In Rodgers’s historic career.
Jets head coach Robert Saleh was fired in the middle of the season and was followed by interim coach Jeff Ulbrich. After the conclusion of the season, New York hired Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn as the team’s next head coach.
While Rodgers has recently taken a bit of time to come to a decision in the offseason whenever he contemplates retirement, it looks like Glenn isn’t willing to let him hold the franchise hostage.
“Aaron Glenn plans to meet with Aaron Rodgers in the hopes of reaching a resolution ‘much sooner than later,'” reported Pro Football Talk on Monday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Aaron Rodgers needs to go to a team that has more pieces and is ‘win now’. Unfortunately, those opportunities may have passed him. He would do really well on a team like 49ers, Vikings, Dolphins, etc. in my opinion,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“If Glenn knew what’s good for him, he would get him out of there right away. That guy is an organization killer,” another fan added.
“Yeah, I’m sure Aaron is real excited about having a defensive coordinator as head coach. The good news is…it seems over for Rodgers anyway,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Glenn spurns Rodgers toward retirement.
