Aaron Rodgers Syndication: The Record

The New York Jets’ Aaron Rodgers experiment has been nothing short of a disaster. Rodgers’ first season in New York was cut short in his first possession of the year after he went down with a ruptured Achilles.

Rodgers has been available this season, but it hasn’t made much of a difference.

The Jets lost 26-21 to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday to drop to 3-9 on the season. Rodges has been a large part of the Jets’ struggles this season, as he has had arguably the worst season of his storied career.

With Rodgers at such an advanced age relative to the rest of the league, many have wondered if the Jets would elect to bench the veteran to see what it has in the other rostered quarterbacks while focusing on the upcoming draft.

Following Sunday’s loss, Head Coach Jeff Ulbrich revealed the team’s final decision on what to do with Rodgers, according to Pro Football Talk.

“We have great belief in Aaron,” Ulbrich said.

“We think he gives us the best opportunity to win.”

It’s a surprising decision considering it has become clear throughout the season that New York doesn’t have enough to win games with Rodgers under center. It’ll be interesting to see if Rodgers returns next season.
