The very famous introduction to Monday Night Football will be noticibly missing this evening when the Colts play the Buccaneers. The reason? Hank Williams Jr. went on Fox & Friends this morning and had some interesting comments.
“It would be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli leader) Benjamin Netanyahu.” And when asked explain his analogy, Williams said Obama and Vice-President Biden are “the enemy.”
ESPN released a statement on why they pulled the intro:
“While Hank Williams, Jr. is not an ESPN employee, we recognize that he is closely linked to our company through the open to Monday Night Football. We are extremely disappointed with his comments, and as a result we have decided to pull the open from tonight’s telecast.”
