The New York Jets offense isn’t off to the high-flying start people expected with the addition of star quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson is among those who thought things would be different, and the young star isn’t sure if the team is doing enough to be successful.
“I don’t think we do a lot of different stuff to be honest,” Wilson said in an appearance on Bart and Hahn. “When I watch football on Sundays and I see a lot of teams who mix it up and stuff like that. I don’t feel like we do that. I think we know our identity. It’s just about going out and executing it or figuring out if it’s going to work. I don’t think we’re trying a lot of different things.
“I know, personally, my route tree hasn’t been what it has been the last two years as far as the stuff I’ve been running. It’s just about figuring out if it’s the right identity and whether it’s going to win games.”

Fans online reacted to Wilson’s shocking proclamation.
“Saying Nathaniel Hackett is a dunce in the nicest possible way,” one person said on Twitter.
“How much of this is Rodgers wanting simplicity and how much of this is inept coaching staff? I lean towards the latter,” a fan wrote.
“So he’s saying he was better when Zach was his quarterback. Interesting,” a fan said.
“Rodgers is terrified of throwing the deep ball and also over the middle as much as it sucks to admit. He’s too worried about picks and incompletions, was an issue at the end in Green Bay which is why they didn’t succeed in the playoffs,” someone chimed in.
Whether the problem is Aaron Rodgers or the coaching staff, the Jets are going to have to figure things out if they want to keep pace with the Buffalo Bills in the tightly contested AFC East.
