Wildfires have ravaged the state of California in recent years, and another fire in Northern California started this week, resulting in thousands of people evacuating from their homes. And sounds like New York Jets star quarterback Aaron Rodgers is doing what he can to support victims of wildfires in his hometown.
According to a report from NFL reporter Rich Cimini of ESPN, Aaron Rodgers has made a sizable donation to help the evacuees.
“Aaron Rodgers, in conjunction with a civic organization near his native home in Northern California, donated $100,000 to help wildfire evacuees. The Thompson Fire, which started on Tuesday, has burned over 3,500 acres near Oroville and forced about 28,000 people to evacuate, per CBS News. #Jets” Cimini said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Rodgers grew up in Northern California and attended college in the state, playing his college football with the California Golden Bears where he set a number of passing records before he was ultimately selected by the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft where he played for about two decades.
Even though he no longer plays in California, he clearly still wants to help his community.
