This offseason, the Chicago Bears decided to move on from former starting quarterback Justin Fields, trading him to the Pittsburgh Steelers before selecting Caleb Williams in the NFL Draft. And one of Fields’ former coaches offered a particularly scathing review of their former quarterback.
Following the departure of Justin Fields from the team, one of Fields’ coaches with the Chicago Bears had a pretty brutal assessment of Fields’ processing ability at the quarterback position, claiming that Fields’ “eyes are all over the place” and that it’s “just bad football.”
“Watch his eyes. He tries to see the whole thing and doesn’t see anything. His eyes are all over the place and it’s just really hard to watch. It’s just bad football,” the coach said anonymously, according to independent long-form journalist Tyler Dunne.
Fields is obviously moving on to the Pittsburgh Steelers where he will have a clean start with a new team. It’s unlikely that he will be the team’s starting quarterback this season as they also signed veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, but it will be interesting to see how Fields is able to perform with a new team.
We’ll have to see if Fields is able to perform better with the Steelers.
