Tom Brady is already considered one of the greatest to ever step on an NFL football field. But in a recent interview, he shared that he would be “open” to the idea of adding to his legend even more by stepping back onto the football field.
At 46 years old, Brady’s days of playing a full NFL season again are pretty much done. However, he recently shared that he would entertain the idea of playing quarterback in a postseason game if the right team happened to need a quarterback.
“Patriots, could be Raiders, could be, you never know,” said Brady to internet personality VicBlends. “I’m not opposed to it. I don’t know if they’re going to let me if I become an owner of an NFL team,” Brady said. “I don’t know, I’m always going to be in good shape, always going to be able to throw the ball. To come in for a little bit, like MJ coming back, I don’t know if they’d let me but I wouldn’t be opposed to it.”
It seems like a bit of a stretch for Brady to actually step foot on an NFL field again. As he said, his role as a part-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders would likely bar him from playing in the NFL again. And he is also awaiting a new role as a broadcaster for Fox next season.
That being said, if anybody was going to play in the NFL game at 46 years of age, it would be someone like Brady who has always been known to keep his body in great shape.
Who knows, maybe we haven’t seen the last of Brady in the NFL. But he would certainly need to clear some hurdles, and have the right situation arise to make this scenario a reality.
