There is no bigger name in professional golf than Tiger Woods, and there is no more prestigious tournament than the Masters at Augusta National. So it’s only fitting that Tiger Woods would make his return at the Masters this week.
According to a report from Mark Schlabach of ESPN, Tiger Woods is in Augusta and is set to compete in the Masters this week unless he suffers a setback before the tournament begins.
“Barring a setback in the next four days, it seems likely that five-time Masters champion Tiger Woods will make his 26th appearance at Augusta National Golf Club this week,” Schlabach
“Woods, 48, flew from Stuart, Florida to Augusta on Sunday and spent some time at the club’s practice area with his caddie, Lance Bennett. Woods and Bennett worked together at the Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club outside Los Angeles in February.”
This will be Woods’ first appearance on The Tour since the Genesis Invitational back in February where he ultimately withdrew from the field due to an illness.
We’ll have to see how Woods performs this week and whether or not his health holds up, but it’s pretty clear that he fully intends to play and compete.
