The New York Giants just gave quarterback Daniel Jones a new contract before the start of the 2022 NFL season, but it sounds like the team is still targeting a quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft.
According to a report from prominent NFL insider John Frascella of Razzball, the New York Giants are interested in both LSU Tigers quarterback Jayden Daniels and Michigan Wolverines J.J. McCarthy, though they have since come to realize that only McCarthy would potentially be available with the No. 6 overall pick.
“While it’s come out that the Giants are upset someone leaked the JJ McCarthy story, my source tells me they were even more interested in Jayden Daniels. However, it has become clear to the Giants that Daniels is DEFINITELY going in the top 3 of the NFL Draft, thus their attention turned completely to McCarthy.” Frascella said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

This report has since been confirmed by NFL insider Benjamin Allbright.
Obviously, if the team is looking to select a quarterback so high in the NFL Draft, that indicates they are not exactly content with Daniel Jones as their starting quarterback.
We’ll have to see whether or not the Giants do select McCarthy in the draft.
