Since he decided to retire from coaching earlier this year, legendary Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban has spoken out against the NCAA’s name, image, and likeness rules and how NIL has changed college football. But not everyone agrees with Saban, and you can count a legendary rapper as one of his harshest critics.
After Nick Saban went to Captial Hill to discuss the NIL situation in college athletics with members of Congress last week, legendary rapper Luther Campbell, the frontman for the hip hop group 2 Live Crew, had some pretty shocking claims about the former Alabama head coach.
In a post on social media, Campbell called out Saban for being racist, claiming that the former Alabama coach hates Black people and thinks that Black kids are his slaves.
Time and time these coaches show their true colors once they get out of the game. Nick Saban is no different than Tommy Tubberville They hate Black people they think black kids are their slaves for them to only profit off of. Trust me, there’s more races head coaches out there… https://t.co/894PYLYFZ0

Trust me, there’s more races [sic] head coaches out there right now today coaching take a look at their staffs. You can easily find the ones who have never had a black OC or a quarterback coach,” Campbell said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
It’s certainly quite a bold claim from Campbell.
