Mark Dantonio’s Monday press conference figured to be a slightly tense one considering the way his Spartans lost to Northwestern on Saturday. But the tension was quickly broken by a sudden appearance of a peculiar song:

That would be “You’re Welcome” from Disney’s Moana, written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and performed by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Not exactly what you’d expect to hear ringing out through a head football coaches press conference, especially a Mark Dantonio press conference, but we’re here for more press conferences being interrupted by Disney songs.
How about a Nick Saban press conference being interrupted by “Be Prepared” from the Lion King?
Or a Butch Jones presser being interrupted by “Let it Go” from Frozen?
The possibilities here are endless, and all of them are incredibly funny to think about. This was probably not Mark Dantonio’s phone going off with a Disney song as a ringtone, but boy if it was, it would be awesome. And whatever you think about Moana and the Rock’s singing, you have to credit to Dantonio for barely cracking a smile when the song goes off, even though he said he smiled.
Disney songs make everyone smile, even on Monday’s after debilitating 3OT losses.
