Duke and North Carolina will meet for the 241st time on Wednesday night. College basketball’s most promoted and consistently competitive rivalry will resume in Chapel Hill with the Blue Devils seeking to extend their four-game winning streak and the Tar Heels looking to remain atop the ACC.
There have been dozens of spectacular moments since the schools first met in 1920. Separated by just 10 miles, things have become heated over the years, including one moment on March 4, 2007 that left Tyler Hansbrough in a heap of blood after a vicious flagrant foul from Gerald Henderson:
