Minnesota head football coach Jerry Kill shocked college football with his retirement announcement on Wendesday morning. He called it quits during the middle of his fifth season in Minneapolis after transforming a downtrodden program into a legitimate contender in the Big Ten West each of the last two seasons.
The announcement was met with stunned reactions from across the country and prompted some very classy comments, including one from their most fierce rival, Wisconsin:
Our thoughts today are with Coach Kill & the #Gophers. Great man, coach & competitor. #respect https://t.co/yYUqUFRro9
