It’s been just under a week since Giancarlo Stanton took a fastball to the face courtesy of Brewers pitcher Mike Fiers, but the Marlins outfielder is already making process on the road to recovery.
Stanton, who suffered a facial laceration, multiple facial fractures and significant dental damage during the incident, took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a few photos of the healing process. The photo on the left was taken at the hospital immediately following the incident, while the one on the right is a look at his current status in the recovery:
He’s obviously got a ways to go before he’s back to normal, but Stanton seems to be in good spirits. Here’s the caption he accompanied with the photo:
“The Aftermath…Making huge progress!! Want to thank everyone who has played a part in my recovery process. Your kind messages, thoughts & prayers have meant the world to me. Pushing forward”
Hopefully this message from our friend Lana will help. Honestly, how could it not?
