Day two of the Masters on Friday was a lengthy one for many golfers due to an incomplete Round One on Thursday. And this led many to question whether Tiger Woods’ body would hold up for the extended play.
Woods was one of the many golfers unable to finish his opening round of the tournament on Thursday due to a delayed start, playing the opening 13 holes at one under par. This meant he needed to finish out the final five holes of his opening round and play 18 more holes in Round Two on Friday.
Tiger has notably had his fair share of injury concerns as of late, withdrawing from the last PGA Tour event that he participated in, which was the Genesis Invitational just over two months ago.
Thankfully, his body held up quite well throughout his extended play on Friday, and his play was quite solid as well. He finished his opening round at one-over-par and continued the steady play into his second round. Woods then played his second round at even-par to finish at a total of +1 through 36 holes.

Woods came into the tournament with an incredible streak of made cuts at the Masters, making it in his last 23 Masters tournaments. His finish on Friday was enough to extend that to 24 straight made cuts, as he is well within the cut line for this year’s tournament.
This breaks a tie for the record for the most consecutive made cuts at the event, which he was previously tied with Fred Couples and Gary Player for.

At +1, Tiger is still pretty far back from some of the leaders on the course. But if anyone can vault right back into contention at this tournament, it may just be Tiger Woods given his extensive list of accomplishments at Augusta National.
