Last week, independent 2024 presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. revealed that he was considering New York Jets future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers as his running mate in the upcoming election. But it sounds like Rodgers will not be the choice, after all.

According to a report from Diana Falzone of Mediaite, Aaron Rodgers has been ruled out as the running mate for Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for a pretty brutal reason – he sparked “concern” among donors.

“Aaron Rodgers, the outspoken NFL quarterback who Kennedy had been considering as his VP pick, is out of the running, a source close to the campaign said. The prospect of his selection prompted concerns among donors to the campaign,” Falzone wrote for Mediaite.

It’s not clear what exactly these “concerns” were among the campaign’s donors, but Rodgers has emerged as quite a controversial figure in the NFL over the past few years as he has become known for his affinity for conspiracy theories.

Last week, CNN reported that Rodgers once berated one of their journalists, criticizing their coverage and claiming that the Sandy Hook shooting was “not real” and was “a government inside job.” Rodgers vaguely refuted the claims in a social media post.
