NFL: Super Bowl XLIX-Seattle Seahawks Press Conference

Showing his incredible business savvy once again, it is being reported that Marshawn Lynch is seeking a trademark for the phrase “I’m just here so I won’t get fined.”

Lynch had made the phrase famous during Super Bowl XLIX Media Day, where he pretty much repeated the line to every question that reporters asked him.

Now, the phrase will be on sweatshirts and shirts under Marshawn’s “Beast Mode” brand.

“We heard from our fans, and so many of them were saying that they wanted that phrase on the clothing,” Chris Bevans, who runs Lynch’s “Beast Mode” apparel line, told ESPN.com. “This is just listening to the marketplace.”

The Seattle Times first reported news of Lynch’s latest trademark filing.

Bevans said the phrase will appear on shirts and sweatshirts on the Beast Mode website within the next month.

Marshawn will likely have no problem selling the apparel. When Lynch wore his Beast Mode branded hats to his media appearances in the week leading up to the Super Bowl, the hat quickly sold out on Marshawn’s website.

At the very least, Marshawn’s apparel line will undoubtedly help pay for whatever fines Roger Goodell keeps throwing his way.
