For some teams an NCAA Tournament appearance is everything and for others it means nothing without at least one victory, Sweet 16, Final Four or even a national title. With 351 programs set to kick off the 2014-15 college hoops season this week, all of them expect to receive a ticket to the Dance, regardless if that’s a realistic goal or not.

Although the preseason Associated Press rankings will change dramatically over the next four months with baffling upsets, heroic buzzer beaters and the development of potential Cinderellas, they still serve as an excellent preliminary barometer of reasonable expectations.
