After more than fifteen years together, EA Sports announced Monday that they would no longer be working with Tiger Woods for their PGA video game series. According to Sports Business Journal’s Eric Fisher, the company has already begun moving on without Woods.

The split seems to be simply a business decision on the part of EA. With Tiger’s fall from grace, his shrinking impact on the game, and the transition to next-gen consoles, it seems like a decent time for a change in direction for the franchise.

With that being said, it’s hard to imagine a golf video game without Tiger Woods on the cover – never mind completely missing from the game altogether.

It’s the second big split for the video game company this year, as it was announced earlier this summer that the NCAA would not renew their licensing with EA for a college football game next year.
