In one of the cooler ideas for a new way to stimulate tourism, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Robert Hays have been called upon to film some scenes for a set of Wisconsin Department of Tourism commercials. The two got to reenact their famous scene from the cockpit for the commercials, of course with a few changes.
According to Biz Journals:
It seems Wisconsin just can’t shake the Zucker brothers. David and Jerry Zuckerreunited with writing and directing partnerJim Abrahams, all three Shorewood natives, on Thursday in Los Angeles to shoot another Wisconsin Department of Tourism commercial. Check out an exclusive slideshow of photos from the commercial filming — The Business Journal was the only media outlet granted access.
The Zuckers and Abrahams wrote and directed “Airplane!” along with other films. This time, they brought “Airplane!” starRobert Hays for his second role in a Wisconsin tourism ad and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the legendary NBA star whose career included an NBA championship with the Milwaukee Bucks. Abdul-Jabbar, of course, played the co-pilot in “Airplane!”, who was definitely not Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
