No. 16: Ohio State

While it is tempting to toss the shell-shocked AP No. 5 Buckeyes into the re-ranking’s top 10, their schedule doesn’t warrant such a leap.

The loss of Miller is catastrophic regardless of what some are saying and it all but eliminates a title shot, but there is only one ranked team on the slate. That’s not to say it’s impossible for OSU to win five games.

Navy and Virginia Tech are becoming increasingly dicey to open the season and a visit from Tommy Tuberville’s Cinci team is interesting. That’s followed by a trip to Big Ten newbie Maryland then Penn State two weeks later. Urban Meyer sees No. 8 Michigan State on his November schedule along with conference sleeper Minnesota before finishing the season at home with Michigan.

Tread lightly Urban…Buckeye fans don’t take kindly to anything but perfection.
